Myra Mural IV- 2010  Design Competition

At the FHRA Annual Meeting on June 19, 2010, student Michelle Kim's design "Soar" was announced as the winner of the Myra Mural IV competition by King Middle School Computer Animation teacher Kirk Palayan.

The competition has ended with nearly 200 e-mail votes cast, but you can still click on a thumbnail below to view all of the designs in larger versions.
"Underneath the Skin" was the close runner-up.

All the designs above were created by students in the Computer Animation program at King Middle School.
Teacher Kirk Palayan explains, "I asked my students to think of ideas, messages,  feelings and
emotions they felt were important and to make a design based on what was important to them."

 Once the winning design  is approved by the City, King students, under the guidance of a
professional artist, will paint the "Soar" mural on the western wall of the Myra Ave. underpass.
